COVID PROCEDURES

In regard to COVID-19:

  • Please stay home if you're not feeling well.

  • If you have been tested for COVID-19 as a result of exhibiting symptoms and are awaiting test results do not come to class until the test results are received.

  • Students that test positive must isolate for five (5) days. Please contact Darlene Friedman with a positive test result at darlene@terrieoconnor.com

QUALIFICATIONS FOR LICENSURE — REAL ESTATE SALESPERSON’S COURSE

Applicant must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States or legally present in this country.

  • Be at least 18 years of age or older.

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalency.

  • Be of good moral character.
     

QUALIFICATIONS FOR LICENSURE — REAL ESTATE BROKER’S COURSE

Applicant must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States or legally present in this country.

  • Be at least 18 years of age or older.

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalency.

  • Be of good moral character.

  • Have been continually licensed and employed on a full-time basis as a NJ real estate salesperson for the 3 years immediately preceding application.
     

SCREENING QUESTIONS

All applicants will be required to answer screening questions prior to the first class. These questions involve criminal, misdemeanor or disorderly persons offenses; criminal complaint, disorderly persons charges, criminal accusations or criminal information currently pending; revocation, suspension, surrendering or denial of a real estate license or other professional license; any child support obligations; age requirements of 18 years of age; whether or not applicant has ever held any license issued by NJ Real Estate Commission; whether or not applicant is a high school graduate or holder of a G.E.D.; and whether or not applicant holds a real estate license in another state.

Any applicant who does not qualify will get a full refund of their fees prior to course start.

​FEES

All fees for the class expire one year from the starting date of the original course. After that time, applicants will be required to submit a new application and repay the fees, if they wish to continue.
 

​ATTENDANCE

Per NJAC11:5-2.2(s), the attendance policy is as follows:

To satisfactorily complete any pre-licensure course, a student must achieve a passing grade and attend at least 80% of the session hours required for the course by NJAC11:5-2.1.

Any student who misses more than 20% of the required hours will be required to make up the hours missed and missed material accordingly within one year of your course start date, before taking the final exam and receiving a completion certification from the school.

*Please note: We do not encourage students to miss the allowed 20%, as full attendance is best in order to prepare for exams. Making up hours in other offered courses, when available, is permitted.   If you are making up hours in other offered courses, there will be a $15 processing fee.
 

​REFUND/RETURN POLICY

Refunds for withdrawals requested seven days prior to the first class are issued at 100% minus a $50 processing fee, only when notification is submitted in writing. Refunds for withdrawals submitted in writing three days prior to the first class are issued at 50% and a $50 processing fee still applies. No withdrawal refunds are given after Friday of the week prior to the first class; however, course fees received may always be applied to a future course, for up to one year from the start date of the original course.

No refunds will be given for review classes or retake exams.    You must re-register for any subsequent reviews or exams and pay the associated fees.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY

If you have to withdraw from a course, you can sign up for a subsequent course for up to one
year from the start date of that course. All withdrawals must be in writing.​
 

BEHAVIOR

All students must be respectful of the instructor and other students.

  • No disruptive behavior of any kind will be tolerated and could be cause for dismissal. At
    the discretion of the instructor, any student displaying such behavior will be expelled
    from the class. No refunds will be given.

  • All cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned off during class for in person classes. 

  • For online classes all students must be LIVE and visible to the instructor at all times.

  • Terrie O’Connor Realtors Real Estate School has a zero tolerance policy for cheating.   If a student is caught cheating, or suspected of cheating, on the exam that will be cause for dismissal.  At the discretion of the instructor, any student displaying such behavior can be expelled from the class. No refunds will be given and no additional retake options will be permitted.
     

PRIVACY POLICY INFORMATION COLLECTION, USE AND SHARING. 

Terrie O’Connor Realtors Real Estate School does not collect any information about you, the customer, without your permission. We only have access to collect information that you give to us voluntarily via email, our registration form, or another form of direct contact from you. By filling out our forms, your consent is implied. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone under any circumstances.
 

SCHOOL CLOSING PROCEDURES

All emergency school closing will be posted on our website at www.tocrres.com. The school will also notify all students in currently running courses via email of any school closing or delayed openings. All students must confirm correct email addresses on the first day of class for emergency closing purposes.
 

​CLASS CANCELLATION

We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason, including failure to meet minimum registration requirements   In the event that a class is cancelled, we will notify all registered students, and offer to refund their fees (less a $15 processing fee)  or allow them to move the following month’s class.   
 

REVIEW CLASSES

Terrie O’Connor Realtors Real Estate School periodically offers online review classes to help students prepare for both the school exam and the state exam.  These are structured online review classes taught by our instructors that cover the five topics that have the highest percentage of questions on both the school exam and the state exam.   All Terrie O’Connor Real Estate School Review classes are subject to the same policies and procedures as our classes.
 

SCHOOL EXAMS

Once students complete the course, they are required to take and pass the school exam prior to registering for and taking the state exam. In the event a student does not pass the school exam, the student may retake the school exam at a $15 charge per retake. If a student does not pass the school test, students may continue to attend subsequent classes of the same nature until the exam has been passed OR for up to one year from the start date of your course.  There will be a $15 processing fee for each re-enrollment in an additional class.  Retake dates will be posted on Terrie O’Connor Realtors Real Estate School website and registration can be completed online

  

A grade of 70% is required to pass the exams.

Salesperson Exam: 75 hour course.

​

Broker’s Exams: 90 hour General Broker’s Course

30 hour Agency and Ethics Course

30 hour Office Management Course​

Retake dates will be posted on the Terrie O’Connor Realtors Real Estate School website and you can register online.

*Please note: A student may take the school test 3 times, and if a student is unsuccessful in passing after a third attempt, the student must retake the full 75 hour class, in order to take the school test again.  There will be a $15 processing fee for re-enrollment for students who are within one year of the date their course began.  After one year, a full registration fee must be remitted.

​STATE EXAM

Once students have passed the school exam, they are required to register to take the state exam in order to get licensed. The state exam must be taken within one year of the course completion date. After taking and passing the state exam, students are required to be fingerprinted, through IdentoGo. Their website is https://www.identogo.com/
